Ursel Bangert is Bernal Chair in Microscopy and Imaging at the University of Limerick (Ireland), following positions of Reader and Lecturer at Manchester and Surrey University (UK), conducting research in the area of electron microscopy for over 30 years. She has been involved in the conception and managerial activities of prominent Electron Microscopy Facilities at Liverpool University (Northwest STEM), at Daresbury Laboratories (SuperSTEM) and at Manchester University and is currently establishing an International Centre for Ultra-High Resolution Imaging and Characterization at the University of Limerick. Her current research activities concentrate on investigations of structure, growth phenomena and structurally related opto-electronic properties of Nano-materials, in particular of 2 dimensional materials (her characterization of Graphene has contributed to the Nobel Prize achievement in 2010 by A. Geim), to reveal materials’ features and dynamics on the atomic scale. She has got 300 publications including Nature papers, Review Articles, Perspectives, Book Chapters, and has contributed prolifically at national and international conferences including numerous invited talks and seminars.

Prof. Xiangrong Wang obtained his BSc degree (1984) from Wuhan University and his PhD degree (1990) from the University of Rochester. After a two-year post-doc. experience at the University of Minnesota, he joined the Physics Department of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a faculty member in 1992. He is currently a professor there. He was a Qian Ren Professor and is a guest professor at several universities and research institutions in the Mainland of China. Professor Wang is working in the field of theoretical condensed matter physics and statistical physics. His current research interests include static and dynamical properties of topological objects and topological states, magnetization dynamics and spintronics, and quantum phase transitions of two-dimensional systems. He published more than 180 papers.

Dr. Zhimei Sun is the Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Beihang University, China. She received her Ph. D. degree from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002. From 2002 to 2007, she worked at RWTH Aachen University in Germany and Uppsala University in Sweden successively. In June 2007 She joined the faculty of Xiamen University as a full professor, and since 2013 she has been working at Beijing University, Beijing China. Her research interests include materials genome engineering, Rational design of function materials based on artificial intelligence, low-dimensional magnetic materials, phase-change materials for data storage. Up to now, she has published over 280 SCI peer-reviewed papers and was ranked in the most cited Chinese Researcher in Materials Science and Engineering by Scopus for three consecutive years. She led the team developing the ALKEMIE platform, which realizes data-driven intelligent design of new materials and novel properties of materials.

Dr. Neda Baktash received her first master’s degree in electrical engineering with a major in Telecommunications from Yazd University, Iran. She pursued her work experience and academic development by studying for a second master’s degree in Laser and Photonics in Germany at the University of Bochum. Later she received her PhD degree in optoelectronics from the University of Southampton, UK in 2020. Her PhD work was focused on Spatial and temporal pulse shaping on high-power fiber lasers under the guidance of Prof. David Richardson in the Optoelectronic Research Center (ORC). During 2019-2022, she worked as a laser scientist at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory-STFC to upgrade the Petawatt Vulcan laser. In early 2022, she started working as a laser development engineer at Trumpf Laser UK, in Southampton for two years and currently, she has joined Coherent Corp, Glasgow as a Staff laser development engineer.

Prof. Haruo KOBAYASHI received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in information physics from the University of Tokyo in 1980 and 1982 respectively, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1989, and the Ph. D. degree in electrical engineering from Waseda University in 1995. He joined Yokogawa Electric Corp. Tokyo, Japan in 1982, and was engaged in research and development related to measuring instruments and mini-supercomputer. He joined Gunma University in electronic engineering department as Associated Professor in 1997, and promoted to Professor in 2002. His research interests include mixed-signal integrated circuit design & testing, and signal processing algorithms. He has published more than 170 journal papers and 560 international conference papers. Also, he has supervised 20 Ph. D. students and 160 M. S. Students. Currently, he is Professor Emeritus of Gunma University. He has served as a committee member as well as general chair and program committee chair of several international conferences. He received the Yokoyama Award in Science and Technology in 2003. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, IEICE, and IEEJ.

Dr. Wenbo Peng is now an Associate Professor at School of Microelectronics, Xi’an Jiaotong University. He received his PhD degree in major of Electronic Science and Technology at 2016 and bachelor degree in major of Microelectronics at 2010, from Xi’an Jiaotong University. He has been a visiting scholar in School of Materials Science and Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology from Aug 2014 to Jul 2016, working on the research fields of piezotronics and piezo-phototronics under the supervision of Prof. Zhong Lin Wang. His research interests mainly focus on advanced low dimensional piezoelectric semiconductor materials, devices and physics, and novel intelligent sensing integrated chips. He has received several fundings from NSFC, Shaanxi Province and companies. He has authored and co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal publications in related research fields, parts of which are published on high quality international journals, including Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Nano Energy, ACS Nano, Nano Letters, etc. His publications have been cited over 2200 times, as documented at Google Scholar (h-index: 26). He has given several Invited Talks in renowned international conferences. He is the Fellow of International Association of Advanced Materials.

Dr. Shankar Pidishety received his Master�s degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2008, and Ph D degree from School of Physics, University of Hyderabad, Telangana, India in 2014. His Ph D work was focused on complex optical fields interaction with surface plasmons under the guidance of Prof. Nirmal K Viswanathan. After that, he worked as a DST Young Scientist (and as a post-doctoral fellow) at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India during 2014-2017. Where, he worked with Prof. Balaji Srinivasan on generation and amplification of complex structured optical beams through the optical fiber devices. He also worked as a Research Fellow at Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, UK during 2017-2020. Where, he worked on different fiber lasers, amplification of higher order modes, diamond Raman lasers in association with HPFL research group led by Prof. Johan Nilsson. Then he associated as a Research Fellow with ORC Nanophotonics & Metamaterials research group leading by Prof. Nikolay Zheludev, to explore his further research interests. He also worked with Boston University, USA and other Universities as part of collaboration research work. Dr. Pidishety had 2-independent project grants of worth �5million, funded by Department of Science and Technology, India and ORC, University of Southampton towards his research at IITM and in collaboration with University of Southampton during 2015-2017. He also has 3-Patents on fiber coupler device, for his research credit. He was awarded an Young Scientist award by Dr. K V Rao Scientific Society, India for his Ph D research contributions.
